Lots of things happening in your OLLI. . .

You’ve noticed we now have tables and chairs in Classroom A because we needed to move our Interest Groups to the smaller classroom and free up Classroom B for larger classes and help reduce the number of waitlists.

We are looking for additional space for even larger classes, as the rental for the mall Community Room was not part of our budget.

Jascenna Haislet, our dynamic Director, is off to Chicago for a seminar at the OLLI National Resource Center.  There are 124 OLLIs nationwide, but only 12 directors were selected to attend.  Congratulations, Jae!  We know you’ll bring back even more great ideas!

Don’t forget we have “hearing assist” technology in both classrooms. Everything that comes through the speakers is more easily heard with different types of headphones, including one that works with hearing aids.  Visit the office for more information.

We are certainly in for an interesting weekend--beautiful weather today but downright chilly tomorrow for the football game, (but beautiful again early next week.)  WVU basketball has the free Blue-Gold Debut this evening -- with free parking!  Traffic will be “interesting” all weekend to say the least.  I think I’ll stay home and hibernate!

You can still sign up for the trip to the Heritage Farm Museum and Village on Friday October 25.  Deadline is this Wednesday, the 16th.

That’s all for now!
