Celebrating Success and Understanding Challenges (Charleston)

CHARLESTON - OLLI at WVU continues to grow, welcoming more than 600 new members to our family in Morgantown and the Kanawha Valley over the past three years. We have expanded our class offerings, travel and field trip opportunities, and special member events. We’ve added new facilities and services, upgraded resources, and formed new partnerships. Thank you to everyone who have helped to make these wonderful changes happen!

As we look to the future, it’s time that we explore who we are and how we’re doing. Therefore, the Membership committee, chaired by Gwen Gill, and Marketing committee, chaired by Ed Johnson, have worked with me and two student assistants, Lyndsay Bonomo and Bailey Johnson, to create a list of 50 questions that we would like to ask our members. Some questions are demographic (age, gender, retirement/employment status, etc.) while others are meant to help the OLLI board and staff determine where our strengths and weaknesses lay and how we might better serve our members. Some of the questions may seem rather personal but please understand that we ask them only because it is the type of information that we may be able to use when forming new partnerships and seeking grant funds.

Participation in the survey is optional but we strongly encourage our members, both current and past, to complete it. The survey is set up to be anonymous and individual responses will remain confidential. We understand that some members may not wish to answer all questions and that is fine. You may answer only the ones with which you are comfortable.

There are several ways that you can complete the survey:

  • online for Kanawha Valley members at https://olliatwvu.wufoo.com/forms/q6x8ipb1933717/
  • connect the OLLI office  at the number below to have a paper copy mailed to you
  • or over the phone with one of our student assistants. They are available Monday – Wednesday between 2 and 5 p.m. in the OLLI office.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call Jascenna Haislet, Director of OLLI at WVU, at 304-293-1793 or email Jascenna.haislet@hsc.wvu.edu.

Thank you for your continued support of OLLI at WVU and lifelong learning.
