12th Annual Gandhi Day Walkathon & India Festival

The 12th Annual Gandhi day Walkathon and India Festival will be held on Sunday, Sep 23 2018 from 4-7 PM at the WVU Shell Building. The goal of our annual Gandhi day event is to promote Mahatma Gandhi’s message of peace, non-violence and unity. At the same time, it is an opportunity to serve the local community as the proceeds are donated to a local charity.  This year, 50% of all sponsorship donations and ALL event day proceeds will be donated to WVU Children's hospital.

The event will include a walk for peace and unity in memory of Mahatma Gandhi along with numerous food stalls featuring food from different regions of India, arts stalls, Indian clothes and jewelry, Mehendi (henna) stalls. Plus Regional Music and Dance shows and Ethnic costumes! Promising a fun filled evening for the whole family!

In the previous 10 years, we have raised about $25,000 from this event. The proceeds from this event have been donated to several local charities: Milan Puskar Health Right Clinic (2017), Eye foundation of America (2016), Habitat for Humanity (2015), Stepping stones (2014), Shack neighborhood House (2013), WVU Children's hospital (2012), Scott settlement House (2011), Morgantown Soup Kitchen (2010) and Ronald McDonald House (2009).

Tickets ($10 at stall, $5 Online). Each ticket includes a free food coupon ($3 value).
