The Fairmont State/Pierpont Community and Technical College Lifelong Learners is a membership driven, non-credit continuing education program for adults interested in remaining mentally and socially active. Lifelong Learners provides educational opportunities for
area residents aged 50 and older, |
regardless of prior Fairmont State affiliation or educational background. Emphasis is on offering short-term programs in a variety of subject areas – enhanced through the active participation of course participants. Programs are often supplemented by planned social activities, lectures, trips and other events of significant membership interest.

The National Resource Center for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes plays a lead role in disseminating information on effective educational programming for older learners. In addition to providing information and connections via a web site, the Resource Center publishes a national research
journal, plans an annual national conference, and provides a number of other ways for OLLIs to connect with one another. |
