2013 Holiday Reception

There was a very large turnout at this year's Holiday Reception as we celebrated our 20th year anniversary. The reception was December 11th in the Mountaineer Mall Atrium.

Nancy Receives Retirement Award

Our director, Angela, presents Nancy Merrifield with a Certificate of Appreciation, a Mountaineer statue and honorary lifetime membership to OLLI at this year's Holiday Reception. Nancy's last day is January 2nd.

Nancy Merrifield Retires

After 32 years of working for WVU, Nancy Merrifield is retiring. She has been with our organization since we became an Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. We will miss her greatly. Here Nancy and her husband, Buck, pose with her Mountaineer trophy.

Welcome to OLLI!

Our Director, Angela, poses with her husband, Brent, in front of the beautiful poinsettia tree at the 2013 OLLI Holiday Party.

The Originals

This year mark's 20 years of lifelong learning in the Morgantown area. Each of the individuals pictured were originally involved with the Appalachian Lifelong Learners program, which later became OLLI at WVU.

OLLI Extra Mile Award

Connie McCluskey was honored at the Annual Luncheon for her commitment and dedication to OLLI. Connie has worked hard for years to assist in the day to day operations of the office. She is most deserving of the Extra Mile Award.

A Message from Our Director

2015 is upon us. Please join our OLLI community for the pleasure of learning and the spirit of friendship. Our members contribute in many ways to strengthen and enrich OLLI at WVU, serving on the Board, becoming a committee member, volunteering at special events and programs, or leading an interest group.

Through the gracious generosity of our OLLI members, we have a Scholarship Fund that will assist those who wish to participate but are financially unable. If you, or someone you know, would like more information, or would like to contribute, please contact me at (304) 293-1793, fill out the Scholarship Application available online and in the office. All inquiries and scholarships will remain confidential. We are still accepting members into the $100K Club and are looking for 40 more contributors.

Whether you are here solely to take classes or want to partake in the myriad of other OLLI activities, you are in for a treat.

We are glad you’ve discovered us.

Angela Faulkner-Van Deysen, Executive Director

Open Policy

When Monongalia County Schools are closed for inclement weather, there will be no OLLI classes. Two hour delays will not affect OLLI classes. We observe WVU holidays.

The charitable IRA gift opportunity has provided many benefits to OLLI’s supporters over the years.  The House of Representatives passed the same provision for 2014 earlier this week, but it has not been finalized by passage in the Senate and signed by President Obama yet.
