WVU Retirees Trip to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, June 17

Retirees are going to the symphony. We’ll travel to Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh to hear Ax plays Beethoven’s “Emperor.” The symphony website calls Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, “Emperor” the quintessential concerto for the piano. They say the “Emperor” has it all – a striking opening, hymn-like adagio, and a glorious finish.

For this trip, you will have a choice between two packages, both offering a substantial educational discount to retirees. For Orchestra front seating, the cost is $60 per seat. For Balcony front seating, the cost is $55 per seat. The price includes transportation and the symphony ticket. Lunch will be on your own.

We will leave Morgantown from the Mountaineer Mall at 11:00 a.m. and arrive in Pittsburgh around 12:30 p.m. We should leave Pittsburgh around 5:00 p.m. and be back in Morgantown around 6:30 p.m.

Reservations for this trip are due by May 31, 2018. On that day, we will make our commitment to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Budget Charters. As a result, we will not be able to make any refunds after May 31.
